Meet Our Safety Directors

At Terpening, making safety a priority is more than just words! In addition to our continued investment in new vehicles, ongoing maintenance, and experienced drivers, we also have dedicated individuals in charge of monitoring and implementing new safety requirements on a full time basis.

Mike Chellis

Mike is the Safety Director with Terpening Trucking and has been with the company since 1977. He's a 40-year commercial driver and is currently Vice Chairman of the Board of the New York State Motor Truck Association. Today, he still maintains all his driver-qualification credentials and license, and as a believer in “know and use the tools you give your drivers”, he will often get back behind the wheel.  Other accomplishments include:

• Accumulated nearly one million miles of safe driving
• Participates in NTTC safety meetings, councils and Expos, and was a presenter at the Rollover Summit in 2007
• Volunteers his time with a “Tank Truck Incident Response” training program for several Syracuse-area fire departments

Brian Brundige

Brian is the Assistant Safety Director with Terpening Trucking.  He has 29 years with approximately 900,000 miles safe driving throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Mass. and Connecticut. Brian attended NTTS driving school in Liverpool, NY in October 1985 and graduated Class Champion with 94.6% grade average.

He has the following credentials as well:

• Haz-Mat certifications ranging from First Responder to Incident Commander from Hess Corporation and ExxonMobil Corp
• Haz-Mat roll over training from Mobil Oil Corporation which included Scot Air Pack certification
